Last week’s traditional Saturday trip took me to the south of Vancouver. I have been to north and east of Vancouver, I was curious to see what lies south of our great city.
My attention was attracted by small waterfront town of White Rock. It lies on a shore of Semiahmoo Bay, has a beautiful beach and a promenade with long pier. The city got its name from 486-tonne granite rock that was brought to the area during last glacial period. It has distinct bright white color, and it was even used byt 19-th centure sailors as a beacon.
The city is a popular toursist destination during summer, and it is famous as a place where many movies were filmed, including many scenes from the X-Files.
Heavy wind and rain did not stop me from exploring it, and I must say that I liked it a lot. It must be a very nice place to live, and it is indeed a nive place to visit. I will be back in spring, when it will be warm and sunny!
